Dr Mike Kearsley is an independent management consultant, specialising in sales, marketing, business planning and research and general personal and business development. He was formerly responsible for internal marketing and business development training with Coopers & Lybrand (PWC). He was a top performing IBM salesman and manager, the Marketing Director for Bowring Marsh McLennan, international insurance brokers and Managing Director of his own business which included an IBM dealership and a mailing/business development consultancy. He has created and developed a public European management training organisation for Quotient plc and has provided business planning and training for many major companies (Hewlett Packard, KPMG, ICL, IBM, Barclays, GE Capital etc). These have included initiatives towards national accreditations – Investors in People, National Vocational Qualifications and National Training Awards.
He has lectured on sales and business planning and development for the Institute of Management, the Sales Trainers Association, the Institute of Personnel and Development and the Institute of Management Consultancy. He has been a course director for such as: the London Management Centre, Management Centre Europe, the Europe Japan Centre, and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. He is the author of many texts and papers in the area of business development, management consultancy and learning systems. He is a developer and tutor for several Master’s degree programmes in business, marketing and consultancy. He has been a Court Assistant with the Worshipful Company of Marketors and was Clerk to another of the City Livery Companies. Mike has worked as a business consultant and lecturer with many organisations and professional groups throughout the world, latterly via his company Wordcom Associates.
